Hey humans,

Sorry for such a long delay since my last update. For those that wanted to know..I had a great few months. :)

Thats it!

Just kidding, Ok lets get down to brass tax...I had a great kick off to 2011 with a western Canadian tour which saw lots of new faces and places Id never seen or been to. In Febuary after the tour I embarked on a journey out to India with World Vision. During the week I saw some pretty amazing things and learned so very much about myself and the world around me. There are many problems and a lot of distress going on in that country. The injustice and poverty are beyond anything I had ever eperienced prior to being there. If you would like to read, I posted blogs every night I was there and they can be found at

To follow this amazing trip I had the great opportunity to tour with a band called Starfield. We toured 13 dates from Halifax to Saskatoon. The world vision aspect of the tour was pretty great too. We saw 490 kids get sponsors. Thats 490 kids!! New they get to learn valuable skills, become educated, get clean drinking water, eat every day, the girls learn their value and worth, despite what their culture says about them. Boys grow up with confidence in themselves and zeal for life. I saw the results of the work and It truly changed my whole outlook on Charity and especially World Vision.

I have decided that since the new album is on hold, I will use this time to continue writing and making art and music. Gotta be flexing those creative muscles all the time...right!? Im also trying something different with the way the album will be funded. I want you guys to be a part of it. SO...There is a pledge page which gets you anything from personalized artwork to advance copies of the album, house concerts to little notes of thanks. :) I love the idea of having fans involved with what im doing, not only on the back end of albums, but the whole process from start to finish. here is the link

To be honest, I'm in a weird place at the moment. I dont know whats coming next nor can I really predict what my next year will look like . So right now I am just focusing on getting this album done and out to you!! Thats whats most important to me right now. Cool ??

Im going to sign out now, but I wanted to let you know that you are amazing. Just for being you. for taking time to read this. For supporting my life and career.

Toodles,
Jb

THREE

I got a phone call the other day from my friend Tim. he plays in a band called Starfield. He asked me to go with him to India with World Vision. He and I are both world vision artist advocates and he was gracious enough to ask this graceful ol trout to go with him. Sooo on Febuary 5th I will, along with a videographer and two world vision workers, be going to India to meet with a village, develop relationships, play music, dance and work with them. The whole trips focus to to get the entire village sponsored. How will this happen. WELL...I will be touring with Starfield in the latter part of the spring and collectively we will be promoting child sponsorship at every show across Canada and the US. Im really really excited to be a part of such a mission. In fact, just a few hours proir to getting the phone call, I was thinking about how badly I want to go to India and get involved somehow...Seems that prayers do get answered on occasion. :)

That is all. But is it?

haha FOUR

Today I am going for a skate outside. I expect my insides to feel more like outsides and that my legs will feel like two bags of cottage cheese.

FIVE

After the india trip I am travelling straight to Saskatchewan for a youth conference called Youth Quake. There will be a lot of excited screaming teenagers. I will be one of them. After that stint, Im going to tour in Saskatchewan for a bit. then head back east. Only to turn back around a week later and go to Ontario for an extensive tour of Southern ontario. This will come after Canada Music Fest.

That is finally all I can tell you.

I love you and happy new year ...kiss someone special

Jon

World Vision

Date Posted: Dec, 9th 2010

Im working with World Vision as an artist advocate. this is really new. i got the welcome package in the mail on Friday. I have been for a while now thinking about how I can use music for more purposeful things. I cant help but notice how selfish music can be, and that as a musician I have to always be promoting myself. After time, people become really nasty and i want to avoid that...Basically, life is bigger than my little music career. I want to help people and make a difference in the world. Its really really easy to do that these days and when world vision contacted me I had to jump all over it. So from now on, at shows i will have little packets of pictures of children who need sponsorship. I myself have a little sponsor child and Its quite an amazing thing to know that I am helping to keep someone alive, nut not only that, give them education, housing, a strong community of people that care about not only the physical body but the soul and spirit. Awesome. I get excited just typing about it. So yeah thats whats new...

How are you??

Subscribe to my mailing list on the homepage and ill keep ya up to date...which means an email everytime something major happens...like a tour or album release or video...I wont spam ya or tell you about my cat...unless you want to know about my cat...

Love you guys..Thanks for your support

New Album

Date Posted: Dec, 9th 2010

So i just got out of a meeting with my producer Jordan Wiberg and we were just chatting about the new album project. Were really excited about the way its looking and the kind of album were going to create. Its such a fun and intimidating experience planning for the follow up. But hey its something that every artist goes through. I am really happy with the songs and im starting to play them at shows now. Ill be recording in January and through until april. I dont expect the release until fall of 2011....And even that seems too early. Anyways ill keep ya posted on how that all goes. Im thinking for the cover "Jon holding a dove, in a latex scarf and mittins. Long flowing locks and evenkeeled look in eye"

A few items of new-ness

Date Posted: Oct, 8th 2010

Hey everyone reading this! As you can tell Ive got a new website. Pretty sweet I know. My buddy Matt Mcmullen designed and put it all together. Big ups to him I know!...Its working really really well and the last thing we had to do on it was this little update. so here I am.

Its been a while since I updated the general public so here it goes.

Last month I got around to recording another music video. Paul McCurdy, John Burke and I got together one evening and started to shoot for think back. We sped up the song to 225% and went at it...i felt like i was singing bombs over baghdad. Nevertheless after 12 takes in 3 different locations we finally got the winner which is the last one we did. It turned out great and im glad to see how people are enjoyin it..

Also last month I got a few nominations from Music Nova Scotia and the Covenant awards (GMAC's)out of Calgary. I was pretty pumped at first that I got the nomination but i was more excited about the opportunity to perform and enjoy the weekend with a coupla buds..In Calgary I've been asked to play at the awards Gala for the Covenant awards. I was surprised that they would have asked me but more surprised when they said I could hire a band. Soooo when I play Deaf at the awards show I get a Cello player, violin player, pedal steel (words cant describe) a timpani player and a bell player...Anyways...its gonna be a good time none the less.

Lately ive been writing for the next album. Its not an easy task trying to follow up an album with good songs..Its really really hard actually...But im pretty excited about the whole thing and hoping to have something released in the summer/fall next year..

I will be travelling to toronto to play a few shows in and around there in early december. Sort of a mini tour. Ill be playing a fe with my friend Jadea Kella. Im hoping to get one in toronto, one in montreal, guelph, kingston, and one more place TBA....But yeah. Theres whats new and happenning for those of you who im sure are just dying to know :}

Keep lovin and fightin for what ya believe!!
